Advising

PROSPECTIVE/NEW MAJORS AND MINORS, and curent minors
The Department of history offers walk in advising to new majors and minors (i.e. delcaring a history major or minor) and students with questions about our program.  Current history minors may also use these hours.  See undergraduate advising for more details.

CURRENT MAJORS
Current history majors can identify, contact, and make an appointment with their advisor via NINER ADVISOR.  History seniors in need of a graduation check may also utilize departmental advising walk in hours.
 

SUBMISSION OF PAPERWORK
Majors who need forms signed may drop these off with Ms. Robbins in Garinger 226.  She will route the fom to the proper designee, and contact you once it has been processed.  This includes:

• Permit for Transient Studies and Study Abroad Agreements
• VA and Financial Aid forms
• Advising forms: ROTC, Athletics, Year-Long Education Internships

ACADEMIC PETITIONS should be submitted online via 49er Express Banner Self-service.  These petitions will be electronically routed to the proper person.

STUDENTS ON SUSPENSION
Suspended students must fill out a suspension appeal form on 49er express Banner Self-service.  The appeal should contain substantiated reasons for the current grade point deficit and concrete steps to rectify it.  The Department Chair adjudicates suspension appeals.
