Museum Studies Class to Present Exhibit Proposal Ideas for JCSU James Peeler Exhibit

On Thursday, December 3rd, student groups in Dr. Shapiro's Museum Studies class will present their exhibit proposal ideas for the Johnson C. Smith James Peeler Photography Exhibit. James Peeler was a prominant African American photographer in Charlotte's Biddleville area. Johnson C. Smith's collection of his photographs includes thousands of images taken over Peeler's career that capture moments of Biddleville's history. The students have been working with archivist Chelly Tavss to aid in the creation of an exhibit of Peeler's work in the James B. Duke Memorial Library. Curious visitors are welcome.
