History Department COVID-19 Updates

As we monitor novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we are committed to ensuring that all students can fulfill their academic requirements as planned and to supporting students, faculty and staff in this process. Please see below for important updates on how the department will run until normal operations resume.

ADVISING

Step 1: Make an advising appointment on Connect
  • Go to my uncc - Connect to make your appointment. If no appointments are available before March 30, email your advisor directly.
  • Your advisor will send you an email with a Google Meet link - either as part of an appointment invitation or right before your appointment time.
Step 2: Your Advising Conference
  • Be at a computer with a camera and microphone five minutes before your advising time. Check your email for the link.
  • Click on the link to be connected. The Advisor controls the meeting; so be patient till the connection is established
  • Your advisor will share their screen with you. Be sure you have a list of questions you would like to answer
Step 3: Post Advising
  • Your advisor will send you an filled out advising sheet per email. A copy goes to the Department as proof you have been advised
  • By the end of the day, the Department will lift your advising hold (if applicable)
  • You are now set to pre-register for summer and fall courses
Pre-Registration Guide 
The Pre-Registration guide contains the registration, transient studies, grade replacement, repeat override, and other rules and how-tos. Please read them carefully as given the current communication challenges, we will not answer questions that are already explained in this guide . 
 
Walk-In Advising

The History Department office will be closed while the university is in reduced operations. If you need "walk-in" advising, please email Dr. Lansen at oelansen@uncc.edu.
